Texas Library Association selects two of our book titles for Tejas Star Reading List 2015

The Texas Library Association selected two of our book titles for the 2014-2015 Tejas Star Reading List.

Lectura Books publishes bilingual books for The Latino Family Literacy Project™, in English and Spanish, since 2001, and has become experts in teacher training and bilingual curriculum for parent involvement throughout the United States. Many of our books have received national and international book awards and really help parents to read with their kids and to teach their kids to improve vocabulary skills. Parents, kids, teachers, librarians, and book critics LOVE our books!

The Latino Family Literacy Project™ offer teacher training and several age-appropriate programs for parent involvement for Hispanic parents, that are bilingual and engaging to both parents and kids. Parents are taught how to read aloud and get to practice in a classroom setting before they take the book home to read with their children. The parents also work on activities during each class session with trained providers. This is a wonderful parent involvement program for English Learners!

The Preschool bilingual book collection helps parents to teach preschool skills such as colors, numbers, letters, feelings, and new vocabulary, so they will enter school with strong skills.

The Elementary book collection focuses on strong reading skills and vocabulary and includes a vocabulary review in the back of each Elementary level book. These books are bicultural and bilingual and with the vocabulary review and coaching for parents, it’s a win-win situation for schools, parent, and kids alike.
