Palatine CCSD 15 Testimonial in Spanish
The Latino Family Literacy Project

I like this program a lot because it taught us many things, mostly how to include our kids, in various ways, how to read better
Rebeca Santana – Bilingual Kindergarten teacher – I’m interested in this program because the workshops focus on literacy with latino parents. I’ve seen a big impact with the parents in this program. The program focuses primarily on teaching parents how to read a book. With this program, the stories in the books are stories that the parents can relate to. The stories relate to the everyday lives of the parents. The fact that the books are in English and Spanish helps parents a lot. I think it’s important for parents to be involved at their child’s school because it helps the parents know what is happening in their child’s education what chances parents see with their children, what they are teaching, and how parents can support their child’s learning for academic success.
