Age Specific

Program 1: Infant/Toddler is a program for parents with children ages birth to two. It supports the notion that parents are their child's first teacher and introduces parents to concepts of language development, child development and basic parenting skills.

Program 2: Preschool is a program for parents with children ages two to five. Its focus is to establish a daily reading routine by the time their child enters kindergarten. It teaches parents how to use books to teach their children early literacy skills such as letter recognition, numeracy, colors, rhymes, singing, imagination and shapes.

Program 3: Elementary - Family Reading is a program for the entire family. The books are for early readers ages five to ten but also can be enjoyed by the entire family. This course provides parents with tools to establish a daily reading routine, to develop strong vocabulary with their children, and is a forum to discuss parenting concerns, school involvement and education, family goals and traditions.

Program 4: Middle and High School College Awareness introduces families to the college-going process and demonstrates how to turn the dream of college into a reality. This effective interactive parent-student program is designed to provide English Language Development opportunities while building early college awareness by exploring the cultural and familial situations that arise within Latino families. Practical steps and information are provided during the 6-week program.
